Thanks to Janine i'm back into training, and into work, in half the time the doctor thought possible - well chuffed!
I have had ongoing minor knee pain for c20 years but had still been training for a charity walk for over six months when, with only 8 weeks to go until the start, I developed a severe knee pain that meant it was unbearable to walk downhill. I visited the West Yorkshire Physiotherapy Centre, was diagnosed with ITBS and commenced an intensive course of treatment to resolve the problem. After 15 days tough walking, on the 3rd May 2009 I completed the 300 miles and 58,000 feet of ascent that makes up the Cornwall Coastal Path and, together with some work colleagues, helped raise in excess of £10,000 for our three charities .Scope, Breast Cancer Campaign and The Lords Taverners. I felt the WYPC were quick to identify the nature of my injury and with a professional, hands on approach fixed the physical problems allowing me to concentrate on the mental challenge of such an endurance walk! Without the help of the WYPC I would never have been able to start let alone finish such a challenging walk and I am extremely grateful to Janine and her colleagues for their skills, talent and support in achieving this goal.
