What to expect when you visit us

We advise that you bring a pair of shorts and a vest top for the ladies, as depending on your area of injury we will have to assess the structures above and below.

Initial Consultation ½ Hour

Your condition will be assessed, and your diagnosis and treatment plan will be fully explained. You will be given appropriate home treatment and exercise advise.

Initial Consultation 1 Hour

This initial assessment normally lasts for 1 hour and includes a thorough musculoskeletal examination, where we assess how your joints move, the muscles function and how the surrounding soft tissues and nerves may have adapted to the pain of faulty joint positions as a result of injury or poor posture. From this your physiotherapist will be able to determine which structures are at fault, which joints to mobilise and which muscles to strengthen or lengthen.

Your physiotherapist will fully explain your treatment plan and if appropriate will do a full ½ hour treatment session and give you advice on home treatment and appropriate exercises to enable your tissue to recover more rapidly>
